The Liverpool runs focus around Calderstones Park, which is 5 miles from Liverpool city centre, the routes can be modified so you can either run on the perimeter path with the parks or on the roads on the outside, which make them suitable for both daylight and night time running. The longer 8 mile run takes in Sefton park which is also a large and attractive park (this year it was home to the European cross country trials). Both Calderstones and Sefton Park are open 24 hours a day 365 days a year. however take care if you running in the park when it is dark. The sections between the two parks are on pavements running alongside the marked roads
There are toilets and a cafe in the centre and there is also a children’s playground within the park’s.
Liverpool has a strong running community with a number of running clubs and also a number of running events going on in the city throughout the year.
